The Seattle Seahawks odds to win the 2014 Super Bowl were set at 9/1 at AceSportsbook.com.

Oddsmakers believe this Seahawks squad will be no joke as they have odds of winning the Super Bowl that are better than around 90 percent of the league.

One of the keys to Seattle’s success this year should be Percy Harvin, traded from Minnesota.

Seattle.com writes in regard to Harvin’s arrival:

His arrival makes the entire unit stronger, and should make life somewhat easier for (Golden) Tate and (Sydney) Rice as the former Viking will draw some of the double coverage that went their way last season. Harvin also will become the Seahawks’ equivalent to Where’s Waldo? He is primarily a slot receiver, but Harvin will be used in several roles and line up and motion into various spots. Baldwin, who led the team in receptions as a rookie free agent in 2011, is healthy and had a solid offseason after an injury plagued sophomore season.

Also of note, the Seahawks scored 150 points during a three week stretch in December, the highest in modern day NFL history.  Pervin can only help make things better.

It helps that Seattle plays in a division that still has weak pieces in the form of Arizona and St. Louis while San Francisco will have to overcome history.  No title-game loser has ever come back to win a Super Bowl since Miami did it way back in 1972.  Granted, each of the last four Super Bowl losers have made the Playoffs the following year.

The Seahawks odds of winning the NFC West division were at EVEN.  San Francisco was the -120 favorite to win the division.
