Another Man Pleads Guilty in Sports Betting Probe Tied to Legends Sports

A fourth man from the Albany, New York area has plead guilty for his role in a sports betting probe tied to now shuttered Legends Sports out of Panama City, Panama.

Craig Hayner pleaded guilty Tuesday in Albany County Court to promoting gambling, which is a felony.

Hayner and four other men were charged earlier in the year.  They had extended ties to a more sweeping probe that resulted in the indictment of over two dozen individuals that ultimately resulted in the shutdown of Legends Sports and its respective website.
Hayner, 44, of Clifton Park, agreed to a conditional release that requires him to pay back $250,000 in illegal earnings he raked in with the gambling ring, which stretched from New England to Central America.

Two county jail officers have also pleaded guilty for their role in the gambling ring.

One other man from the Albany area is yet to plead guilty.
