Manchester United Slightly Favored to Keep Rooney After 2nd Failed Bid by Chelsea
Chelsea was no longer coming in as the odds-on favorite to land Manchester United star Wayne Rooney following a second failed bid, this time in the neighborhood of £25m, plus add-ons.
Man Utd. Manager David Moyes has repeatedly stated that Rooney is not for sale.
Graeme Souness has claimed that Moyes is solely responsible for Rooney wanting to leave Manchester United after suggesting that Rooney would become back-up to Robin van Persie.
Rooney has been left out of the squad to face AIK in a friendly against Stockholm on Tuesday, with Moyes saying: "Wayne hurt his shoulder in a fall during a match on Saturday. It's not too serious and I don't expect it to keep him out for too long. I'm disappointed he's missing the game because we were keen to get him back involved and ready to play."
Ladbrokes moved its number off even odds to 5/6, maintaining Chelsea as the very slight 4/5 favorite to still land Rooney. Only Bet365.com had Chelsea as the favorite to sign Rooney at 10/11 odds.
