Verdict Reached in Whitey Bulger Case
A verdict has been reached in the trial of reputed Mobster James “Whitey” Bulger. He has been found GUILTY of federal racketeering. He was found guilty in conspiring to murder in some of the 19 cases, but not all. He was found guilty of conspirng to kill Edward Connors, Paul McGonagle and Thomas King.
Bulger, 83, is on trial for charges including 19 murders he is accused of committing or ordering in the 1970s and 1980s while running the Winter Hill crime gang. The verdict is due to be read at U.S. District Court in Boston later on Monday.
More than 70 witnesses and 800 exhibits were presented during the trial.
The jury has been deliberating for nearly five days, taking the time off over the weekend.
