Despite PokerNews.com Managing Editor Brett Collson’s assertion that Las Vegas Sands CEO and billionaire Sheldon Adelson had changed his stance on legalized Web gambling in the US, Those rumors were quickly put to rest on Monday.

Andy Abboud, Las Vegas Sands Vice President of Government Relations and Community Development denied Adelson’s change of heart:

“This article is not accurate. Sheldon Adelson has not changed his position,” he said, referring in actuality to Collson’s Twitter claim.

He initially tweeted:

Adelson has supposedly switched his position on internet poker and is now backing a federal bill with Sen. Harry Reid.

Collson also tweeted:

Spoke with a high-ranking gaming exec who claims to have intel that Sheldon Adelson has hired lobbyists against California's web poker bill.

Adelson in the past has referred to legalized Web gambling as “a cancer” and “trainwreck”.
