Niners Super Bowl Odds 2014: Great Value at 9-1
The Niners Super Bowl odds for 2014 at Sportsbook.com were coming in at 9/1. These were great odds considering the 49ers made it to the Super Bowl last year.
This could prove to be an even better Niners team than that which came within a play of winning last year’s Super Bowl.
The big question remains, will Michael Crabtree’s injury set them back any?
For clarity, oddsmakers have San Francisco a -130 favorite to win UNDER 11 regular season games. This is an indication that the books don’t believe these Niners will win all their big games at home (i.e. vs. Houston, Green Bay and Atlanta). Road games at Green Bay and in New Orleans are the only two that stand out as true challenges on paper.
Clearly oddsmakers believe Crabtree’s injury will have a negative impact. Fantasy players have already taken notice and reacted accordingly.
Alas, Anquan Boldin could have the answers.
Clark Judge of CBS Sports writes:
Just a hunch, but when you wonder where all those passes Kaepernick targeted for Crabtree go now, I would start with No. 81 (Boldin).
" 'Kaep' is very comfortable with him now," Whitner said. "He's in the slot. He's on the outside. They're moving him around.
"With every football that comes his way, 99 percent of the time he's going to catch it. So, yes, he can be the quarterback's favorite target. I'm glad Baltimore let him go."
