Minnesota/Texas UNDER 9 - Despite snapping a five-game losing streak in the series opener, Minnesota has scored only nine runs in the last six games.
This series has gone UNDER the current total four of five times and pushed once.
The UNDER is 6-1-2 in MIN last 9 games following a win. The UNDER is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings in Texas.
Rangers RH Matt Garza (3-2, 4.44) has not been the most consistent starter, giving up at least 4 runs in five consecutive starts but the Chicago White Sox might offer the perfect medicine for Garza to get his act together. More importantly perhaps, Texas has allowed five runs or fewer in 27 straight games, the longest streak since the advent of the DH rule in 1973. And with Minnesota having trouble scoring….well…..that 9 looks good to us.
As for Twins RH Mike Pelfrey (5-10, 5.06 ERA), he has permitted more than three runs on three occasions over his last 14 outings.
Pelfrey gave up four runs in his only start against Texas.
