Current line:  Auburn -6 / Over & Under at 51

Summary:

The SEC will heat this weekend with a pair of teams that are aiming their sights on conference glory. The Auburn Tigers will take on the Bulldogs of Mississippi State Saturday, and the line is not too high, just a touchdown separates the two. Auburn is ranked one touchdown above the Bulldogs, and it’s interesting to see what people are starting to say about the two.

Auburn is riding high this year, winning two games in a row. The Bulldogs on the other hand manhandled Alcorn State 51 – 7, but didn’t exactly do so well against Oklahoma State, making their record 1-1 going into Saturday’s matchup.

The Tigers have been favored in betting circles three games in a row, and rightfully so, compared to the rankings. Meanwhile the Bulldogs decided to turn a new leaf against Alcorn State, a team that wasn’t exactly going to make a dent in against the much stronger team. Coming off the loss against Oklahoma State, it was obvious that Mississippi made adjustments and were ready to showcase why they aren’t too far away from the Auburn line.

Injuries give the shift in the overall line, as Dee Ford, Justin Garrett, and Jeffrey Whitaker were out, and the status of each player isn’t exactly fully known right now. Mississippi State will get back two major components though, as they will have Tyler Russell and LaDarius Perkins back in the mix to take on the Tigers. Even so, there doesn’t seem to be a huge push in the lines right now, and unless there comes a deluge of bets favoring Mississippi, the line seems steady at just one touchdown in favor of Auburn.

Auburn is confident going into this game, with a 2 game streak headed into the game, while Mississippi has some work to do to get past the minor mistakes that plagued them in their opener, but were apparently sewn up in their previous win. Let’s make sure to understand that Auburn is a much better, stronger, and faster team than Alcorn State, so the Bulldogs aren’t going to just steamroll through the game.

The Match Up

On both sides of the match up, we are seeing complimentary points. Auburn has one hell of a running game, but the Bulldogs have definitely tightened up their defense and can break free through the air when need be. That’s not to say Auburn’s defense can’t stop them, as they proved to be a force against Arkansas State, so that leaves a pretty even match up, with a slight edge going to the Tigers because of their streak and heavy hitting moments that have carried them to a 2-0 2013 starting line.

The Edge

Overall, Auburn looks a tad bit stronger, and therefore we’re going with them. The Tigers are -6 at the present, and most sports books are agreeing, that this one is close, but not necessarily field goal close, as there is a lot of artillery loaded on the Auburn side, and that momentum will definitely carry them over the Bulldogs this year.

SportsCashSystem.com Prediction Auburn at -6 is a solid pick
