The Clemson Tigers will go into primetime this Thursday, and most certainly have already started the season with high hopes, as they have so far played excellent football. They certainly looked good during Week 1, but that doesn’t mean they are going to have it easy as they are going to face a North Carolina State Wolfpack that is just doing great.

The Wolfpack are already 2 – 0 on the season and the Tigers are going to be facing on heck of a team, albeit at home. That being said, North Carolina State will definitely have to fight hard as well, and they will need to isolate Tajh Boyd. If they can get to him, and stifle his onslaught on offense, the Wolfpack will have a good go at it. Sammy Watkins, Roderick McDowell and Andre Ellington are all fine players in this chess match, but they need to have more than just break out games to win this one.

Pete Thomas on the other hand is a good leader, but a touchdown pass seems to evade the team, which means they will need to once again rely on the ground game to pound their way through to victory. Clemson did in fact allow some serious yardage against Georgia in their week one game, so maybe they aren’t as solid as some analyst are saying. Even so, the Clemson team is tough, and they are definitely going to have their best game here against North Carolina State. All they need to do is play their brand of football and make sure that they do not make some simple mistakes. If they can avoid making simple mistakes, the Wolfpack should step down and lose this one, but it will be close.

The thing about the college game is that anyone can really turn over a win, if they play solid, mechanical football. That’s what you need to look out for here, mechanical football that is hard hitting, exciting and so much more. Coming up with a “W” here will definitely be Clemson.

The Match Up:

The two teams match up well, with the edge going to Clemson as they are on a roll heading into this match up. Since they are coming off a bye week, they are definitely going to be potent. This Thursday night will showcase a good overall game. Even with injuries, look for the depth chart to step up and take on. The ACC is going to be rocking this Thursday. Will there be an upset? It will be rough, not sure. North Carolina will have to be perfect, and only then will they score this upset. Clemson will take this one, and it will be a good one.
