Patrik Antonius Hot at 2009 Aussie Millions
Big name poker pro Patrik Antonius was among the biggest chip leaders at the 2009 Aussie Millions - the biggest poker tournament in the Southern Hemisphere - after Day 1a. Antonius was in second place with a chip count of 139,750 while Chris Chronis came in first with a chip count of 175,375.
The starting field for Days 1a and 1b was 393 players with Day 1c expected to draw quite a bit more. US$1.33 million was guaranteed at the 2009 Aussie Millions and many of the big name poker pros were participating.
Chronis is a native Australian player with over $100,000 career winnings. Antonius, on the other hand, has live poker tournament winnings to date totaling just shy of $3 million.
The Finnish player, who currently resides in Monte Carlo, was advised by celebrity poker player, Jennifer Harman.
James Obst is a familiar name on the poker circuit, having taken in over a million in career poker winnings over the years. He was in 5th place after the second day of play.
