Perhaps one of the more interesting games this week is going to be the number 4 ranked team Ohio State versus Northwestern who is ranked at 16 right now. These two Big Ten teams are going to be on the national spotlight and they are both going to have to bring their best effort.

Both teams are good on paper, with each one having some deep rosters that will take them past one another if anyone makes a mistake. The two teams haven’t met in a while, but they will quickly find themselves evenly match on both sides of the football, and that could be the most intriguing thing that analysts are talking about right now.

Current line: Ohio State – 7 ½ / Over & Under at 42

Time:  Saturday, October 5, 8:00 pm (EST) ABC

Ohio State and Northwestern both have good quarterbacks, and if either team wants to get to them, their defenses and offenses have to go into full force. One has to give, and which one will it be? That’s anyone’s guess as they both have upside potential. The Buckeyes do have one of the toughest defenses, they will have to be perfect. In the past, they allowed a great deal of running and scoring, and if they don’t tighten up against Northwestern, they are going to have a hard time moving forward.

Northwestern will have to prevent the big plays that can easily come about from turnovers and careless situations. If they stay focused, they will have a better chance at taking out the Ohio State team. However, they haven’t been all that well doing this as they can get frazzled on the ball.

The Match Up:

Ohio State leads in scoring in their conference, and they have a lot of weapons that can easily score. Whether it’s running or in the air, they can attack the football in a way that Northwestern may not be able to stop. Other teams have found themselves dealing with this issue a great deal, and for that reason Ohio is a hard team to bet overall. Northwestern will have to limit Corey Brown, Devin Smith, and Carlos Hyde, if they are to win this one. The overall edge in this game goes to Ohio State – 7 1/2 , they are just too tough.

The Edge:

Ohio State – 7 ½
