The bettors were all over the Seminoles early on.

The Sporting News Linesmakers Larry Hartstein writes:

When the Wynn Las Vegas opened the No. 3 Seminoles (7-0 SU, 5-2 ATS) as 21-point home favorites over No. 7 Miami (7-0 SU, 4-3 ATS), bettors jumped, placing three limit bets on FSU. Race and sports book executive director John Avello moved the line to 22.5.

"I didn't want to go over three touchdowns, but to the bettors it didn't matter – they think Florida State can roll here," Avello told The Linemakers on Sporting News.

Florida State has outscored its last three opponents 163-31

Unlike most lines, games involving Florida State "are running [several points] during the week and not coming back," Avello told The Linesmakers.

Both these teams come into this game with identical 7-0 records.

"Florida State is a team that can run up the score, and Miami just had a poor effort against Wake Forest," Avello said. "But if you go back over the last several years with these teams, the games are usually fairly close."

Miami has covered three of the last four meetings.

It is interesting to note that Miami has only been an underdog of between 21.5 to 30 points in lined game situations on two occasions since 1992, splitting those games Against The Spread.  As an underdog over the past three seasons, however, they have managed to go 10-3 ATS.   And against conference opponents they are 14-3 ATS.  When playing against a team with a winning record, they are 11-3 ATS over the past three seasons.

As a favorite of 21.5 to 31 points, Florida State is 4-1 Against The Spread over the past three seasons with that one failure to cover occurring this year.
