The Seattle Seahawks will be traveling to the Georgia Dome to face off against a Falcons team that wants to overcome the ups and downs of their season and put things together that should be an interesting summation of the overall skill set that they have. They need a win, it’s that simple.

Seattle has been on fire as of late, and while they aren’t always blowing teams out of the water, they are a decent squad that can win at home in a big way and can travel and take on teams, etching out wins that are really close, and coming back from behind to score the final touch and win even when losing throughout four quarters. This match up is going to be an interesting one, especially on special teams where Matt Bryant’s leg could get tested. After hitting a 49-yard kick in impressive fashion, that very well may be the secret to the Falcons success. Matt Ryan will have to continue his touchdown pass streak, and Steven Jackson needs to have a great game as well.
On the other side of the coin, you’ll find that the Seahawks do a lot of things very well. Pete Carroll has been doing a lot of great things for the Seattle team, and has dodged a lot of the criticism that he had previously in the NFL, when he was coach for a certain East Coast squad. Look for Seattle bring out all their offensive weapons early to try and confuse the Falcons defense, and then stun them in the backfield with some new tricks as they are definitely going to want to play an intense, fast paced game.
The Match Up:
There are a lot of names that you can throw around here, but the overall match up looks good on paper, with no team getting an insane edge. This is not too hard of a mismatch, even though some analysts are definitely going to favor Seattle because of their showcase of skills in the past few weeks. The Falcons have upside though, and have proven to be a strong team, one that could very well topple the visitors here. And it is with that in mind that we’re going to go underdogs here. Look for the Falcons to edge out the Seahawks, but not by much, on the strength of special teams at +6.
