Among the hundreds of 2009 Super Bowl prop betting options to be offered over the next week, one of the more popular is "Who will be the Super Bowl MVP?"
The verdict is in and online gambling website BetUS.com has released its Super Bowl MVP prop betting odds.
The favorite: Ben Roethlisberger, though Gambling911.com suggests going with someone else. While the quarterbacks on both teams are good, their backups appear to be the big stars and could ultimately make the difference at the 2009 Super Bowl. It should be pointed out that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Roethlisberger, currently pays $175 for every $100 bet at BetUS.com while his opposing quarterback on the Arizona Cardinals, Kurt Warner, has nearly the same odds, paying $200 for every $100 bet.
How about Willie Parker, the Pittsburgh Steelers running back who would pay $600 for every $100 bet if he is named 2009 Super Bowl MVP?
"(He) could have a huge day against an Arizona Cardinals' defensive line that sometimes lets running back run freely down the field," a BetUS.com analyst points out. "Parker might be the biggest part of Pitt's offensive game plan next Sunday. At +600, he deserves a long look."
Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald has been the toast of the Southwest and would pay $500 for every $100 should he be named Super Bowl MVP.
"Fitzgerald will have to have a monster game from the wide receiver position to win this and the Cardinals will have to win the game but if there is any wide receiver in the league that could pull this off, it's Larry Fitzgerald."
Even bigger Super Bowl MVP payouts can be achieved by betting on the likes of Santonio Holmes (a $100 bet pays $1500), Edgerrin James (a $100 bet pays $1200) or how about Troy Polamalu at +1000 odds for a payout potential of $1000 on every $100 bet?
"Polamalu can put together a huge game in this by shutting down the Cardinals' rushing game and then grabbing an interception or two," the BetUS.com analyst expressed. "He's a good enough player to do it. But the Cardinals know this and will be looking to counter his moves."
You could also select the "Field" option or "Other", which pays $800 for every $100 bet. The idea is that someone under the radar could emerge as the big deal at this year's Super Bowl and ultimately be named 2009 Super Bowl MVP.
