Carolina Panthers Super Bowl 2014 Odds Slashed to 12-1

The Carolina Panthers are on fire and their Super Bowl odds have been slashed to 12-1, but that is still tremendous value at BetOnline.  They even pay greater than 2-1 odds to win the NFC South division, with New Orleans currently favored at the time this went to press.

So far, the Panthers have managed to knock off two teams originally favored to win the 2014 Super Bowl – New England and San Francisco – and have won six straight games.

After Cam Newton and the Panthers beat New England in the kind of game they supposedly couldn't win, it's time to acknowledge that Carolina is a contender, writes David Newton of ESPN.com.

For those who had any doubt about whether or not Cam Newton can be a leader and a winning quarterback in the NFL, it's time to stop that as well. Newton showed the poise of his counterpart -- using athletic skills that Brady can only dream about -- to pull off the biggest victory of his career.

It was a statement game for Newton, who completed a 25-yard touchdown pass to Ted Ginn, Jr. with 59 seconds left for the go-ahead score.

Carolina is now slightly favored over San Francisco (14-1 odds) to win the 2014 Super Bowl while New England was coming in at just shy of 10-1 odds.

The Denver Broncos were still favored at just shy of 3-1 odds.
