San Jose, Costa Rica –Say goodbye to the horrible feeling you get when you bust out of a land-based tournament on Day 1, upset that you wasted all your money traveling to a foreign country with nothing to show for it but tense shoulder muscles from sitting down all day long. The LSOP Millions, a $1 million guaranteed tournament happening in Panama this March, is revolutionizing how poker tournaments work by spreading the Day 1 tables across multiple land-based casinos all over Latin America.
"It’s a $1 million guaranteed tournament and it costs just $850 to get into,” stated the LSOP administration. “This is unheard of, but by hosting Day 1 tables in multiple cities, we’re anticipating a large showing—more so than just what one casino can accommodate.”
It’s not just the $1 million guarantee that will be attracting players in record numbers. The LSOP Millions is set to get underway at Majestic Casino in Panama from March 7th through 15th, but players don’t have to travel all the way to Panama to play the first day.
The LSOP Millions is revolutionizing the concept of playing in a land-based event. Instead of forcing players to fly to Panama, spend money on a hotel, and arrange a budget for food—all while risking the chance that they might bust out before Day 2—the LSOP Millions features multiple Day 1 events happening all over Latin America, several weeks before the action in Panama begins.
While Day 2 continues in Panama, Day 1 events are schedule to take place several weeks earlier at a number of casinos around the world. Locations for the Day 1 tournaments will be announced soon.
Players who make it through Day 1 in their city will earn a seat at the Day 2 table in Panama. Advancing players will be in the money before they even hop on a plane and will move to Panama with the chip stack they ended with on Day 1. Day 1A will also be held in Panama for players who prefer to play the tournament there.
While poker players can find a tournament happening in their own backyard, several sponsor sites are registering players for the event. Popular poker sites Americas Cardroom, BetCRIS, Ya Poker, and Black Chip Poker are holding two 10-package satellites for the LSOP Millions in December. The first tournament gets underway on December 8th at 6pm ET and the second one takes place two weeks later on December 22nd at 6pm ET. Both tourneys are guaranteed to pay out 10 LSOP Millions packages worth $2,500 apiece.
Each package includes: the LSOP Millions Main Event buy-in (to be played in Panama), valued at $750+100; 6-night hotel accommodation (double occupancy) at Hard Rock Megapolis Panama, a 5-star hotel; breakfast; $20 daily credit to spend in the hotel bar; access to a 24/7 VIP support line during the Event; a gift bag; and $750 Cash for travel expenses.
