Online Gambling Exceeds Expectations for Borgata in Atlantic City (Video)

Appearing on CNBC's "Squawk Box", Tom Ballance, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa president and COO, discussed the early success of legalized online gambling in the state of New Jersey for his casino.

Borgata’s managing partner Boyd Gaming utilizes the PartyPoker platform.  It was one of two companies to get an early start launching in the Garden State.

“Boyd’s strategy is to engage in online gambling nationwide,” Balance told CNBC.  “A lot of the foundation for our success was already laid by Boyd.  We were set up and ready to go.”

When asked if online gambling could be seen as a threat to brick and mortar casinos, Balance proclaimed “It is not a threat to brick and mortars!”

“Some of the great news is that, when we match up databases, the great majority of players who are playing online have not been to Borgata in well over a year.”
