On Wednesday, February 26, John Pappas, PPA’s executive director, will testify before the Senate Executive Committee of the Illinois State Assembly. The Executive Committee is holding a hearing to discuss the future of online poker in Illinois.

Pappas will provide expert testimony on why Illinois should join states like Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware to license and regulate online poker. Licensed online poker has the potential to both bring jobs and revenue to the state while ensuring Illinois residents have a safe and fair market for playing online poker. Prior to the Department of Justice shutdown of online poker in the U.S. in 2011, it is estimated that more than 200,000 Illinois citizens played online poker.

The event will begin at 1 pm CST.
