Arctic winter weather continue to chill the gambling business across the midwest and eastern states.
In Northwest Indiana, overall revenues at the five gaming boats fell 12.1 percent last month, according to the February revenue report from the Indiana Gaming Commission.

Bitterly cold weather likely contributed to the poor performances turned in last month by St. Louis-area casinos. All six St. Louis gambling halls posted lower revenue totals in February than they did during the same month in 2013, according to figures Monday from state regulators.

Regulators say bad winter weather once again kept gamblers away from Pennsylvania casinos.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board said Wednesday that revenue from slot machines in February totaled $181 million, down more than 7.5 percent.

Casinos typically depend on February and March business to get off to a strong, profitable start for the year.
