As if having a boyfriend whose family allegedly had mob ties were not enough, now there are reports that Michael Sam’s beau was once intimately involved with a gay porn star named Austin Wilde.
Sam was named Southeastern Conference Champion of the Year in 2013. He's now the first openly gay NFL player.
Just hours after Sam was selected in the 2014 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams, Gambling911.com reported that boyfriend Vito Cammisano comes from a long line of Kansas City mobsters. Cammisano and Sam shared an intimate embrace and kiss on live television upon learning of the Draft selection.
Cammisano’s dad served a 14-year prison stint for running a gambling ring in the Kansas City area. His grandfather allegedly did far worse in the form of murder and feeding the corpses to sewer rats. Oh my!
So for those of you who thought Sam’s boyfriend was just some innocent Lady Gaga groupie, you were dead wrong (gulp).
And now we have folks furious over the NFL drafting an individual whose boyfriend has ties to gambling, something the National Football League frowns about.
Take best selling author and 2008 Libertarian Vice Presidential nominee Wayne Root.
“They were so thrilled to become the politically correct league…they fell all over themselves over Michael Sam,” Root tells Gambling911.com. “But no one bothered to check his background or associations.
“This is what you call ‘A failure to communicate’.” Root added.
“The league that hates gambling so much just got into bed with mob bookmakers!”
