Gambling, Nude Modeling Wife of Saudi Football Coach Sparks Outrage

Further proof that what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay there but Maria Prodan would be wise to do just that….stay in Vegas.

The newly signed coach of the Saudi Arabian football team, Romanian-born Laurenţiu Reghecampf, is facing getting sacked after it was revealed that his wife, Maria, supplements her income through gambling and modeling in the nude. Reghecampf just signed a $2.5 million contract to coach the Saudi team.

Wife Maria, a Las Vegas resident, modeling jobs included a nude photo shoot for Playboy.

It is not yet clear whether she will make the move with Reghecampf to Saudi Arabia.  Considering the outcry that has resulted from these revelations, Ms. Prodan would probably be better off staying in Vegas.   The other option might be getting stoned.

Football fans in Saudi Arabia have taken to Twitter to express their displeasure with Prodan and her husband’s association with her.

"The wife of al-Hilal’s manager works as club president, activist, agent and former addict. My comment is: a coach who is unable to control his wife, how can he control [al-Hilal player Nawaf] Al Abed,” writes Faisal al-Mohlaki (@faisalalmohlaki).

The Spoiler website describes her as football agent and model “who hates pants.”

Well, the women of Saudi Arabia wear more than just pants.  They cover themselves completely in black.

Something tells us Prodan isn’t about to go for that.

The odds of Prodan entering the Kingdom are slim, however.

As one person tweeted: “Prodan should be banned from entering Saudi Arabia because ‘she is a model for pornographic magazines’.”
