Australia’s Sportsbet has come under fire for unveiling a giant Jesus hot-air balloon, a replica of Brazil’s famous landmark.

This Jesus represents gambling on the 2014 FIFA World Cup and critics have protested the link between such activity and religion.

Likewise the Victorian Government has condemned the Sportsbet advertisement that promotes the nation’s Socceroos.

Deputy Premier Peter Ryan called the balloon “disrespectful” and demanded it be taken down.

"They ought to sink," he told News Corp.

"It should leave the skies."

It will take a miracle of God for the Socceroos to win the World Cup.  They would pay $6500 on a $100 bet if it happens.
