The USA Ghana World Cup Group Stage odds were fluid heading into Monday night’s highly anticipated matchup.   Team USA was now being offered at 2-1 odds at Bookmaker, suggesting that sharp book believes Ghana will prevail. 

At Bookmakern, nearly 80% of all bets for this matchup were going towards USA.  The European bookmakers were seeing half the bets come in on Ghana and they, too, were offering odds on Team USA close to 2/1.

This is one of the most unique sports rivalries and it is one that has resulted in massive traffic to the Gambling911.com website in recent days as hundreds of thousands of people look to place bets on USA vs. Ghana.

Both sides have faced one another in the last two World Cups with Ghana earning a 2-1 win over the States in the final match of the group stage in 2006 and winning again in 2010 when they met in the Round of 16.  That score was also 2-1.

Four of Ghana's previous nine World Cup goals have come against USA.

Many believe boss Jurgen Klinsmann's newly implemented attacking style for the US could prove too much for Ghana. Klinsmann played 17 games and scored 11 goals at the World Cup with Germany. This is his second World Cup as head-coach having led his home nation to third place in 2006.

That being said, the African team comes into this matchup as a +145 favorite.

Many were left scratching their heads as Landon Donovan was left out of the USA Squad for the 2014 World Cup. He is USA's top scorer at World Cups with five goals; he has scored three of their last four at the competition.

This game kicks off at dinnertime on the East Coast – 6 pm, 10 pm in Accra.
