Just over a dozen players remained at this year’s World Series of Poker Main Event with the November Nine to be determined shortly.

Some of those playing are newbies who have yet to cash in a WSOP event.

Thomas Sarra, Jr., from Girard, OH is one such newbie, Nolan Dalla reports for the World Series of Poker website.

He’s a 39-year-old former poker dealer who now serves as a caregiver full-time in support of his grandmother.  Not only does he lack any previous WSOP results, he’s not even listed in any of the major poker databases yet, leading one to conclude he’s a virtual unknown playing on poker’s biggest stage of his life.  Being a stealth player could have some advantages, however.  At least Sarra hopes so.

“They don’t know much about me, that’s for sure,” Sarra said during a mid-day break in the action.  “I know that gives me some advantages, but players also pick up on what you’re doing the more you play with them in the tournament.”

Daniel Sindelar was among the chip leaders.  He has 50 cashes and $525402 in live tournament winnings to date.

Martin Jacobsen is among the more successful poker players who was still flourishing late Monday.

The Swede has won $4,875,717 to date in live tournaments.

Luis Velador has enjoyed success over the years.

He's had 47 cashes and has won $1,145,263 in live tournaments to date.

UK player Craig Mccorkell has won $829,456 on the live circuit.
