Way back in 2014, Gambling911.com reported on how two New Jersey men, including one who ran an illegal sports betting website, had admitted to conspiring with the Genovese organized crime family.

Those were the days.  In 2014 one only had to worry about some mean mobster or two having involvement in the sports betting biz.  Today, the NFL is in bed with a number of so-called regulated sportsbooks, players are gambling on games, and the commercials are making us all sick.  Bring back 2014 please!!

We wanted to know what became of them nearly ten years later. Surprisingly, not a whole lot has changed in terms of its loyal customer base in the bookie community.

"Bet Eagle" searches are hot as ever with over 400 impressions a week during the slow time and the website still exists under the name Eag.ag.  That's about as far as you can get if not a registered user.

Back in 2014, federal prosecutors say 77-year-old Joseph Graziano and 44-year-old Dominick J. Barone, both of Springfield, each pleaded guilty to a racketeering conspiracy count.  Prosecutors claimed at the time he was the principal owner of the Bet Eagle website.   Both men admitted to conspiring with crime family members in the site's operation.

Graziano was sentenced to 18 months behind bars back in 2015.

Graziano sadly passed away at the age of 86 two years ago, a free man we would add.  Joe was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

Anybody who has been in this industry as long as we have been here at Gambling911.com know that Bet Eagle holds a very special place.
