Missouri reloads after last year’s run to the SEC title game. Injuries to James Franklin allowed Gary Pinkel to break in QB Maty Mauk (8.1 YPA, 11 TD, 2 INT), who thrived as a downfield thrower. He’ll have to establish chemistry with a new receiving corps. L’Damian Washington (NFL) and Dorial Green-Beckham (dismissed from team) are gone, leaving WRs Bud Sasser (361 rec yds) and Jimmie Hunt (253 rec yds) as Mauk’s likely top targets. The run game should remain strong with RBs Russell Hansbrough (685 rush yds, 6.0 YPC) and Marcus Murphy (601 rush yds, 6.5 YPC, 9 TD) carrying the load. Defensively, the pass rush remains fierce with DEs Markus Golden (6.5 sacks) and Shane Ray (4.5 sacks, 2 FF) emerging as stars. A big question is whether Mizzou can keep taking the ball away (+16 TO margin last year).
