Ronn Torossian Says These 3 Were The Real Big Winners At The Emmys
This year’s Emmy’s are now history with trophies awarded and many gamblers making out big on their Emmy bets last week. But Gambling911.com Special Contributor Ronn Torossian points to other big winners, neither of which received actual awards or payouts. Heeeere’s Ronn…..
When it comes to show business of any kind, being recognized and celebrated for your work is one of the best ways to get more people to become fans. But winning an award is not the only way to get recognition. The Emmy’s recognize outstanding television, but Ronn Torossian says that many of the people who were winners at the Emmy Awards did not actually bring home a trophy. They won in other ways, and they will be celebrated and remembered for their actions.
Billy Crystal touched the hearts of everyone present at the Emmy Awards, and those watching at home, when he spoke about Robin Williams. Williams’ suicide earlier in the month rocked the world, but Crystal focused on the joy that the deceased actor brought to everyone who met him or saw his films. Unlike other people who have seemed uncomfortable talking about Williams, Crystal spoke fondly for almost five minutes to remember and pay tribute to one of the greats of acting. No one will forget his poignant speech or the effect that it had on everyone watching the Emmy Awards.
Weird Al Yankovic has regained a lot of popularity lately for his most recent album. The album topped music charts with its hilarious parodies of some of the most popular songs from the past couple of years. At the Emmy Awards, Weird Al elicited laughs and earned his place in everyones’ memories with his own made up theme songs to some of the most popular shows on television. Some of the shows that were good-naturedly mocked included Game of Thrones, and Mad Men.
The host of the Emmy Awards, Seth Meyers, did a lot throughout the evening to liven up the show and make everyone laugh. One of the most memorable moments was when Meyers and Billy Eichner took to the streets of New York City to quiz the locals with random pop culture questions. For five minutes, the duo bombarded unsuspecting New Yorkers and challenged them to name Emmy nominees, describe their favorite TV shows, and asked various other questions. In the end, their antics will be remembered by everyone viewing the Emmys.
Some of the most memorable Emmy moments do not involve the award itself or the people who accept the award. It is the people who stand out without taking home an actual award who are often more recognized by people watching the show than people who actually win. Being remembered for anything at an awards show is great PR, and is necessary for many people involved in show business, even if they are not nominated.
