Woman Who Killed ‘Elvis’ Due in Court: Popular Poker Dealer Fatally Shot Dead

Joseph 'Elvis' Levine, 56, nicknamed for his uncanny resemblance to the late singer Elvis Presley, was fatally shot last week in his Las Vegas home.  Now his killer has appeared in court.

A judge ordered a mental evaluation for the homeless woman who killed Levine.  Marjorie "Maggie" Fiora, 30, appeared for her initial 72-hour hearing.  She was a guest in Levine’s home on September 3 when the shooting occurred.

Fiora was swimming in the pool at Levine’s home with two of his brothers.

After Fiora went inside, a gunshot was heard and the two brothers ran inside, attempting to restrain the suspect.  She escaped and was later discovered in a neighbor’s home.  Fiora had broken in and stolen a dress, according to law enforcement.

Court papers detail how Fiora disclosed to the two brothers that she "had to kill Levine".  The neighbors whose home she broke into relayed to police that the suspect told them her boyfriend was attempting to kill her.

Fiora was booked into Clark County Detention Center on counts of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon, first-degree home invasion and first-degree burglary.

Levine’s was the 88th homicide in Las Vegas this year.
