The line on the Steelers vs. Panthers game for Sunday Night Football has Carolina as a solid -3 home favorite.

The Panthers have gone 7-0-1 Against The Spread as a home favorite over their last eight. That doesn’t necessarily bode well for Pittsburgh, which is 7-14 ATS in its last 21 games on the road.

Carolina continues to play solid football despite early predictions (even by Gambling911.com) that the Panthers would not be able to compete this season compared to last year. But they are 10-4-1 ATS in its last 15 games and 13-2 Straight Up in its last 15 games.

Total bettors will have a tough time here.  With the number set at 42, the OVER has occurred in 5 of Pittsburgh’s last 7 games while the UNDER is 5-0 in Carolina’s last five overall.

NFL betting used to be built mostly around teams. Bettors looked at spreads, totals, moneylines, injuries, weather and coaching matchups. Those pieces are still there, but the modern football betting board is much more player-driven than it used to be.
