DraftKings Partners With New England Patriots

The popular daily fantasy sports site Draftkings.com has partnered with the New England Patriots.  The partnership is a first for any professional football team with an organization operating in daily fantasy sports and it was inked just hours before Thursday night’s game against the Jets.

The deal includes Draftkings, a Boston-based company, having their name displayed on a prominent LED sign at Gillette Stadium.

Additionally, DraftKings content will appear on the Patriots’ social media accounts, newsletter and “Tip of the Week” on the team’s official website.

“DraftKings is incredibly proud to associate ourselves with the New England Patriots, one of the league’s most successful franchises, right here in our backyard,” said Paul Liberman, CMO and co-founder of DraftKings, which is based in Boston, Massachusetts.  ”The Patriots are one of the league’s model franchises and we are pleased to align ourselves with them.  We look forward to bringing the excitement of daily fantasy sports into the game-day experience.”

On Wednesday, fantasy content provider HotBox Sports Ventures entered into a similar sponsorship deal with the New Jersey Devils NHL team.

Fantasy sites have begun to circle around NBA teams after that league announced last month that it will begin permitting sponsorship deals with such ventures.
