Chris McAlary tells CalvinAyre.com he decided to start the Bitcoin mining website Coin Cloud ATM following the events of April 15, 2011 in which three of the world’s largest online poker sites were forced to make abrupt exits from the US market, a result of indictments leveled against several key executives from each company.

The US Justice Department essentially froze all of McAlary’s assets (money he had at one or more of the poker sites named in said indictments).

Bitcoins make it easier to move funds in and out of online poker sites from the US.

CoinCloudATM.com is bills itself as the easiest way to buy and sell Bitcoins, the anonymous digital currency that is finally starting to catch on with Internet gambling websites.

Americas Cardroom CEO Phil Nagy announced last week that his online poker room will be fully integrated with Bitcoin by mid-December.

Coin Cloud’s biggest ATM machine is located smack in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip.

“I’d like to see casinos adopt it (Bitcoin) more,” McAlary says.  “It’s a great way for casinos to bring in offshore money.”
