The Bucs vs. Lions point spread had Detroit as a -10 home favorite against lowly Tampa Bay.

On the surface it would appear as if the Lions can easily improve their record to 9-4 this week but Against The Spread may be a different story as Detroit is hovering at .500 (6-6).  Tampa Bay, despite their 2 wins Straight Up have actually paid out on 5 occasions this season.  The Bucs did beat Detroit on the road last year by three points.

The Buccaneers are 1-5 Against The Spread in their last 6 games following a ATS win, 2-10 ATS in their last 12 vs. NFC but are 21-8 ATS in their last 29 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.

The Lions are 2-8 Against The Spread in their last 10 games following a ATS win and are 0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a SU win of more than 14 points.

Calvin Johnson is expected to play Sunday against the Buccaneers despite an ankle injury.

NFL betting used to be built mostly around teams. Bettors looked at spreads, totals, moneylines, injuries, weather and coaching matchups. Those pieces are still there, but the modern football betting board is much more player-driven than it used to be.
