Bookmakers were likely to take a hit on this game as action continued coming in heavy on Green Bay at an 80% clip.  The reaction for oddsmakers suggests a Packers blowout is possible.

With New Orleans losing Sunday at home to Carolina in a shock upset, the Falcons now lead the woeful NFC South with a 5-7 record.

A similar upset is highly unlikely in Green Bay with the Packers playing terrific football of late.  They have not lost at home this season.  Two of those home wins were against Playoff hopefuls Philadelphia and New England.  Two of the last three home games were won by more than 30 points.  Despite all of this, the Falcons loss last year in Green Bay was by only a point.

The Falcons have won three of their last four games overall including a home win versus one of the league’s top teams right now, Arizona.

The cold could be a factor here with temperatures expected to be just below freezing at Game Time.

NFL betting used to be built mostly around teams. Bettors looked at spreads, totals, moneylines, injuries, weather and coaching matchups. Those pieces are still there, but the modern football betting board is much more player-driven than it used to be.
