A 33-year-old personal trainer and former teacher last week converted a $35 entry into $2 million at the 2014 FanDuel Fantasy Football Championship in Las Vegas.

"My wife was like, 'Hey you're really good at fantasy football; you should try it out.," Scott Hanson told Business Insider regarding his leap into the Daily Fantasy Sports scene.

He only started playing Daily Fantasy Sports on FanDuel.com this fall and fell in love with the concept, which offers enthusiasts the ability to enter one-day leagues as opposed to the season long drag of traditional Fantasy Sports Leagues.  Money is paid out next day in many cases.

Hansen deposited a mere $25 at first then won his league and a cool $15,000, at which point he began investing an average of $1000 a week.

Eventually he would go on to win the $2 million grand prize at this year’s Fantasy Football Championship.

Admittedly, Hanson may have had a bit of an edge coming in.  He does have an analytics background.

"It's something I feel like helped me a lot in my analysis," he says. "I used their grading to help me make the picks."
