The Illinois vs. Louisiana Tech point spread for the Heart of Dallas Bowl game had Louisiana Tech as a -6 point favorite.

Louisiana Tech comes into this game with an 8-5 Straight Up record but they are 10-3 Against The Spread and they demolished Illinois the last time these two teams met in 2012.

Illinois was 1-5 in the Big Ten and 4-6 overall in the middle of November.

Head coach Tim Beckman is banking on a Louisiana Tech win to gain him an extension after a poor start followed by impressive wins against Penn State and Northwestern.

"A month ago, you didn't think we had a chance," Beckman said. "It's kind of a giggle now. When people doubt you and you prove them wrong, it's very rewarding."

Illinois though has only won four of their last ten games while Louisiana Tech has won six of its last ten.

The Fighting Illini are 5-0 Against The Spread in their last 5 neutral site games but are just 4-12 ATS in their last 16 games following a ATS win.

The Bulldogs are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games after accumulating less than 275 total yards in their previous game and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a Straight Up loss.
