Panthers vs. Falcons Betting Line at -3: Fantasy Matchup Newton vs. Ryan

It’s hard to believe but probably the single most anticipated game to be played in Week 17 will be between the Panthers and Falcons to determine which of these two teams win the NFC South.  The winner will finish with a 7-win record.

The Panthers vs. Falcons betting line had Atlanta as a -3 home favorite but the betting market was not in agreement as to which team will win (or at least cover).  Action was balanced on this game.

After six straight losses, Carolina has shown signs of life winning their last three including a romp of the Saints in New Orleans that had many experts scratching their heads.  The Saints were being touted as the team to win this division.

Carolina starting quarterback scrambled five times in Week 16, his most scrambles in a game this season.  He also posted his 23rd career game with a rushing and passing touchdown.

Newton looks good in the Daily Fantasy Sports space this weekend.  Newton has averaged 21.4 fantasy points per game in his career against the Falcons.  And Atlanta is allowing the most passing yards in the league this season.

The Panthers defense, meanwhile, has allowed the sixth-fewest fantasy points to signal-callers since Week 12 and this does not exactly bode well for Falcons starting QB Matt Ryan.

For sports bettors, it is interesting to note that Carolina has won three of the last four games in this series while covering the last five Against The Spread using the current number.

The Falcons are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games after allowing less than 15 points in their previous game but are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. NFC South.
