Annette Obrestad - the most famous of the Norwegian poker players. Ms. Obrestad became the youngest player to ever win a World Series of Poker final (winning a day before her 19th birthday). She was also the first to win the World Series of Poker Europe. She is also considered to be among the best online multi-table tournament players in the world. Her online nickname is Annette_15. Obrestad claims she never had to deposit money on any online poker website. Instead she is said to have made her initial bankroll by winning freeroll poker tournaments online, amassing several hundred thousand dollars in winnings. Johnny Lodden is another of the better known poker players to come out of Norway. Lodden has cashed eight times at the European Poker Tour, making one final table at the 2008 event in Budapest. Dag Martin Mikkelsen AKA "dmmikkel" is a 22 year old poker player born in Stavenger, Norway. He has won over $363,000 in live poker tournaments to date. His biggest cash out was $237,865 at the 2007 World Series of Poker, where he finished in 42nd place.
Stian Stabell is one of Norway's top-ranked online tournament players who came in 3rd place at the Full Tilt Sunday Brawl with a $61,500 win in July of 2008.
