A Los Angeles man is asking for more than $1 million plus attorney fees from a Las Vegas casino, claiming he was permitted to keep drinking in the establishment last February despite being noticeably inebriated.  He went on to lose $500,000 that day betting the Super Bowl.

Mark Johnston, of Los Angeles, admits he had plenty of drinks before stepping foot into the Downtown Grand casino.

"At some point, that's my responsibility, but the unfortunate part about it for them is, they have a more bigger responsibility than I do," Johnston said.

"They served me all the drinks; they should have cut me off," he added.

Gaming regulators are continuing to monitor the pending lawsuit, filed last year, while conducting an investigation of their own.  Johnston, meanwhile, is facing criminal charges for borrowing money from the casino and failing to pay them back.

The casino also filed a countersuit against Johnston claiming he acknowledged his debt the day after losing the $500,000.
