The Rational Group, parent company of PokerStars, has sued professional poker player Erick Lindgren for $2.5 million in alleged debts.

Lundgren, a two-time World Poker Tour and World Series of Poker champion, was a shareholder in Full Tilt Poker, a company the Rational Group would eventually take over.  The U.S. Government accused Full Tilt Poker at the time of running an elaborate ponzi scheme.

The Rational Group is claiming that Lundgren owed his former sponsor $531,087 for a loan to play in tournaments, as well as the infamous accidental 'double credit' of $2 million which he never returned.

Lindgren, who has won over $10 million on the live poker tournament circuit, has since declared bankruptcy, though some would question how the California-based poker pro could be hurting for cash.  He won $129,192 with a 5th place finish at last year’s WSOP event and $606,317 for a WSOP first place finish the prior year.

A number of Full Tilt Poker pros were revealed to have outstanding debts owed to that company after its initial closure in 2011, Mike Matusow, Phil Ivey and David Benyamine among them.
