The first ever Winning Millions is now history and it appears to have gone off without much of a hitch, albeit the initially scheduled event had to be cancelled due to Denial of Service attacks.

Americas Cardroom was one of a handful of online poker rooms that took part in the event.

Customers praised the site’s efforts while congratulating the winners.  A grand prize totaling a few hundred thousand will be rewarded to the individual who finished in first place.

Players on the TwoPlusTwo.com message board speculated that Winning Poker may have come short of covering the guaranteed $1 million by approximately $30,000 after fees (an amount WPN will have to cover themselves).  This was not immediately confirmed by the site but, with the company’s deep pockets, $30K is a mere pittance.

More information about the successful event was slated for release by the Winning Poker Network and Americas Cardroom shortly.
