Online prediction website PredictIt.org has given Benjamin Netanyahu an 81% chance of being re-elected Prime Minister of Israel.

The site sets its odds based on public volume coming in on either side of a particular bet offer.

A project of Victoria University of Wellington, PredictIt.org is set up to research the potential value of prediction markets in understanding the future.

The site will certainly test the accuracy of prediction markets in comparison to real-time polling as Israeli public polls had this race a virtual dead heat prior to Netanyahu’s address before the U.S. Congress on Tuesday.

Just over a month ago, his chances were listed just under 50%.
