Oscar Alache lifted his second trophy in the history of Latin American Poker Tour, which only Fabian Ortiz and Nacho Barbero were able to boast about. Alache achieved this at his home country, next to his people and leading a Final table full of experienced poker professionals.

The Chilean beat a total field of 410 players who were present in the halls of Casino Enjoy in Viña del Mar, Chile, and created a prize pool of USD $ 904,460, all of them willing to take the second stage of the Eighth Season of the Latin American Poker Tour, sponsored by PokerStars.net. Oscar Alache got his second giant check of the best poker tour of Latin America, this time for USD $ 131,960. The Chilean also became the first player to win a side event and the Main event in one same stop, as he conquered event #5 of PLO also.

The final table began with Chilean Chauriye Fabian as chip leader, who the previous day managed to accumulate more chips than the rest of his fellow Final table partners. Chauriye could not withstand the pressure from his rivals and the cards did not help to continue in that comfortable position, he finally left the tournament in fifth place with a check of $ 39,620 USD.

The eyes of the poker world were pointing at Argentine professional Jose Ignacio "Nacho" Barbero, who was at the door of his third LAPT title. The Argentine did not have that chance in this LAPT and eventually was eliminated in fourth place.

With the last four players still in competition the remaining players made a good story for the tabloids, two players with real opportunities to win their second title, or a former LAPT final table player looking for revenge (Javier Venegas), or the first woman to win the coveted title of the most prestigious poker tour of the continent.

Renata Teixeira became the sixth woman to reach the final table of the LAPT and is the best position for a woman in the Latin American Poker Tour. The Brazilian professional, Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari trainee, made history by reaching heads up, but her epic feat could go further. These are women who have preceded her in LAPT history:

Season Stage Name Nationality Rank Prize
2 LAPT San José Maria Stern Costa Rica 8 $24.425
3 LAPT Punta del Este Daniela Zapiello Brasil 5 $52.110
4 LAPT Viña del Mar Daniela Horno Chile 6 $26.200
4 LAPT Lima Samar Hodali Perú 5 $38.700
4 LAPT Colombia Jessica Bedoya Ecuador 3 $64.345

These were the final positions of the final table:
1. Oscar Alache (Chile) -- $131,962
2. Renata Teixeira (Brazil) -- $113,460
3. Javier Venegas (Argentina) -- $86,505
