PITCHING MATCHUP: Royals RH Jeremy Guthrie (1-2, 6.52 ERA) vs. Tigers RH Anibal Sanchez (2-3, 5.11)

The veteran Guthrie has yet to record a quality start in five outings and has only 11 strikeouts against 10 walks thus far. Heading into Detroit won’t help either as he is 2-5 with a 4.53 ERA in 10 career games (nine starts) at Detroit.

The Royals right-hander has been rocked by the likes of Miguel Cabrera, Nick Castellanos, Ian Kinsler and J.D. Martinez.  For a more expansive daily fantasy breakdown for these players, visit our sister site DFS911.com here.

Sanchez owns a 1.40 ERA in eight career starts against Kansas City.  The Royals are 5-11 in the last 16 meetings.

Four of the last five games Guthrie has started in have gone OVER the current total.  Guthrie has allowed 6 hits or more in each of his first five starts.

Four of the last six games in which Sanchez has started have gone OVER the current total.  He’s allowed 8 or more hits in three of those.  Sanchez has pitched 7 innings in his last two starts and we question whether he’ll be able to go that deep in this one.

None of those on the KC roster have homered off of Sanchez to date.
