The Nationals vs. Reds series betting line for Friday had Washington with some value at -121 on the road and Cincinnati at +112.  The total was set at 7.5.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Nationals RH Stephen Strasburg (3-5, 6.50 ERA) vs. Reds RH Anthony DeSclafani (2-4, 3.46)

Strasburg is 1-1 with a 5.50 ERA in three all-time starts against Washington.

DeSclafani will draw his first career start against the Nationals after holding them scoreless in three relief outings last year as a member of the Miami Marlins.

The Reds enter this series having gone 1-10 in their last 11 overall so this is hardly a team any sports bettor wants to be backing.   They have scored three or fewer runs in seven of their last ten games overall.

It’s interesting to note that six of the last seven in this series have stayed UNDER the current total.  There were some books offering the total at 8.
