BetOnline

Reds -109 (Sportsbook), Cubs +105, Total 6.5 (across the board)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Reds RH Johnny Cueto (4-4, 2.64 ERA) vs. Cubs RH Jason Hammel (5-2, 2.76)

Cueto has been strong in his last two starts, allowing just two runs over 13 innings.  He is 9-8 with a 3.24 ERA in 22 career meetings against the Cubs - including a 5-5 mark and 3.05 ERA in 13 starts at Wrigley Field, which makes him somewhat vulnerable today coming off those two strong performances.

Hammel has recorded quality starts in seven of his last eight outings and has won two straight starts.  Yet another reason why the 6.5 total on this game is most certainly too low in our opinion.  This series of late is very mixed when it comes to the total runs.

He is 0-1 with a 5.22 ERA in five games (four starts) against the Reds but hasn’t faced them since 2011.

Brandon Phillips and Marlin Byrd have had the most success against Hammel.  Both just happen to be on the DL however.

The Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo has reached base safely in 18 consecutive games but is not in play today for Gambling911.com Daily Fantasy players as he is just 2-for-18 with five strikeouts versus Cueto.  Instead, why not go with Chris Coghlan, who has hit 6 times in his last four games.
