(Gambling911.com Sports Wire) - Cowboys star receiver Dez Bryant tweeted Monday that he won't report to the team unless he has a long-term deal. Oddsmakers apparently believe Bryant is trying to call the team’s bluff as they continue to hold Dallas’ Season Wins Totals favored at OVER 10.5. The Cowboys without Bryant are likely to feature a Season Wins Total closer to 8.5.
Bryant tweeted:
As much as I love football...on my beautiful babies.. I apologize #cowboynation but I will not be there if no deal #fact
The wide receiver personally informed Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones that he will not attend training camp and will sit out regular-season games unless they reach agreement on a long-term deal before Wednesday's 4 p.m. ET deadline, sources told ESPN.com.
“We could see some value in the Regular Season Totals betting should a decision not be reached by Wednesday,” advised Gambling911.com’s Don Shapiro. “We might see the total number of wins expected dip down to 8.5 after Wednesday.”
Shapiro warned that the price may be higher if the Season Wins Total number drops.
“It’s still worth putting money down on as we know Bryant will be back,” he predicted.
If the players like Bryant have not signed long term deals by Wednesday, they will receive their pay for this season at the franchise tender if they agree to sign it, which in Bryant's case is $12.8 million.
Bryant, who led the NFL with 16 turndown receptions last season, cannot be fined for missing training camp without signing his franchise tender but would be forfeiting $752,000 for each regular-season game missed while not having the ability to get the long-term contract he desires, ESPN reports.
