So Where is All The Money Going? Updated July 13, 2015 – It’s certainly not going towards any serious marketing campaigns.
Draftster seems to be focusing all of its attention on contests where its customers can win a date with porn star Bonnie Rotten.
“Everyone loves my acrobatic and energetic moves on stage! Meeting people at HorrorCon in Indianapolis got me traveling to LA for a magazine layout, where I totally fell in love with the fetish world, and I started doing fetish and porn work,” Ms. Rotten states.
One recent contest offered by Draftster: “Win a date with me! How does airfare for two, black car transportation, flights, five star hotel accommodations, $2,500 cash and a date with me? Just Play Bonnie Rotten’s Baseball Derby on Draftster to compete to win a trip to LA to meet me!”
One Reddit reader commented: “$25 to enter the contest? You're not worth it, hun.”
Draftster white labels its software, which if done correctly, could lure in potential investors.
Customer service is not exactly their forte, as we learn from reading this review on Facebook:
“Awful customer service. They don't take your withdrawals requests seriously and will even ignore your emails and phone calls. You also won't receive your withdrawal money in a timely manner. I greatly enjoyed the site until I had to wait over a week to get my withdrawals. Never had this problem with draftkings or fanduel with withdrawing my earnings. They were always processed within 1 day. Hopefully they will learn from their mistakes but I am not the only one who has experienced this problem. There is also a whole thread dedicated to their withdrawal issues and lack of customer support on rotogrinders that I would be sure to check out before depositing here.”
Current Assessment Updated July 13, 2015 – The problem with Draftster is sadly the state of Daily Fantasy Sports today as a whole: Early entrants came in with plenty of optimism, looking to make a big bang, only to receive a hard knocks lesson in reality and therefore losing much of their initial luster. Successful Daily Fantasy Sports sites require massive investments, marketing and enormous player pools in order to succeed.
Whether Draftster can move forward and navigate the choppy waters ahead is anybody’s guess.
