The South Carolina vs. UNC betting line for Week 1 of the new 2015 College Football season had the Gamecocks as a -3 road favorite.

The Gamecocks enter this game having beaten the Tar Heels by 17 points at home two years ago.

South Carolina’s defense was terrible last year, ranking number 92 in the nation.  This resulted in head coach Steve Spurrier calling upon an old friend Jon Hoke to take the reigns.  Hoke spent time with Spurrier while at Florida during the 1999-2001 seasons.

“Jon fits in everywhere he goes because he’s a good person, good guy,” Spurrier says. “He’s been around a lot of really sharp coaches, and I think he’s a sharp coach. But he’s got a lot of work to do, he will tell you that.”

The Gamecocks will also be breaking in a new quarterback for this game.

No doubt, South Carolina is a mere shell of a team that had gone 13-2 for three straight seasons prior to last yearOddsmakers only had them winning 7 regular season games in 2015.

The Tar Heels are 0-5 Against The Spread in their last 5 games in September.
