The Baylor vs. SMU betting line for Friday night had the Bears as a huge -35 favorite.  That’s not stopping folks from backing Baylor as they were seeing nearly 85% of the action here.  The total in this game was set at 75.

Baylor shut out SMU last season 45-0.

The Bears odds of winning the 2016 College Football Championship were set at 18-1 and they were given a price of -150 to win OVER 10 regular season games in 2015.

With a new quarterback starting, Baylor will need to rely a little more on their defense as opposed to the offense that led this team to back-to-back championships in recent seasons.  Off-the-field issues, primarily the six-month prison sentence handed down to Defensive end Sam Ukwuachu for sexually assaulting a fellow student and questions as to what the coaching staff knew, could serve to stymie Baylor's performance, at least early on in the season.
