Packers Offense Still Potent
The Packers won’t have Jordy Nelson this season but they still have Aaron Rodgers who is considered the top quarterback in the NFL. And Rodgers still has plenty of weapons with wide receivers Randall Cobb and Davante Parker and running back Eddie Lacy. Rodgers realizes that the team can’t replace Nelson with just one player. “It's tough because he is such a great guy and teammate. His play on the field is exceptional. He does things that you just can't teach out there.” Rodgers said, “You can't replace him with one guy. It's just not possible. You just have to have everyone else lift their level of play and try and make up for the loss, if that's possible. But you don't get better losing a guy like Jordy Nelson. You just try to get back to where you were when you had him.”
Growing Pains for Bears Defense
The Chicago defense is definitely not ready for a game against Rodgers and Green Bay. They didn’t play that well in the preseason even when starters were on the field. “We’re not where we want to be yet,” said tackle Jordan Mills, “But like Coach Fox says, Rome wasn’t built in a day. We got to take it each day at a time, each step at a time, to get to where we want to be.”
